Gregory B. Maffei
Chairman of the Board, President & Chief Executive Officer
Greg Maffei oversees the Liberty family of companies as they compete in the digital mobile era. Liberty's stocks have consistently outperformed the indexes and peers. Liberty Media ranked #8 in Fortune’s 2021 World’s Most Admired Companies in the Media & Entertainment Industry.
Maffei serves as President and CEO of Liberty Media Corporation, which owns media and entertainment businesses, including subsidiaries Formula 1, SiriusXM and the Atlanta Braves, and an interest in Live Nation Entertainment. He is President and CEO of Liberty Broadband Corporation, which consists primarily of a 25% voting stake in Charter Communications and subsidiary GCI, and is President and CEO of Liberty Media Acquisition Corporation, a newly incorporated blank check company formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses. Maffei also serves as Chairman and CEO of Liberty TripAdvisor, which holds a controlling interest in TripAdvisor.
In addition, Maffei serves as Executive Chairman of Qurate Retail, Inc., which owns digital commerce businesses, including subsidiaries QVC, HSN, Zulily and the Cornerstone Brands. Maffei also serves as Chairman of the Liberty-related companies Live Nation Entertainment, SiriusXM and TripAdvisor, and as a Director of Charter Communications and Zillow.
Prior to joining Liberty in 2005, Maffei served as Co-President of Oracle, Chairman and CEO of 360networks, and CFO of Microsoft. He has also served as a Director of Barnes & Noble, Citrix, DIRECTV, Dorling Kindersley, Electronic Arts and Starbucks and was Chairman of Expedia and Starz.
Maffei is a member of the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College and Council on Foreign Relations. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and an AB from Dartmouth College.
Mr. O’Hara has served as Vice Chairman of Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc. since March 2020. He is the Founder and a Senior Managing Director of Certares. Prior to forming Certares, he served as Chief Investment Officer of JPMorgan Chase’s Special Investments Group (“JPM SIG”). Prior to this role at JPM SIG, Mr. O’Hara was a Managing Director of One Equity Partners (“OEP”), the private equity arm of JPMorgan. Before joining OEP in 2005, he served as Executive Vice President of Worldspan and was a member of its Board of Directors. Mr. O’Hara is the Executive Chairman of American Express Global Business Travel and serves on the Boards of Directors of Travel Leaders Group, The Innocence Project, Mystic Invest, World Travel & Tourism Council and Certares Holdings. He is also the Head of the Investment Committee and is a member of the Management Committee of Certares Management LLC. Mr. O’Hara received his Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University.
Larry E. Romrell
Mr. Romrell has been a director of Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc. since August 2014. He held numerous executive positions with Tele-Communications, Inc. from 1991 to 1999. Previously, Mr. Romrell held various executive positions with Westmarc Communications, Inc. Mr. Romrell has served as a director of Liberty Interactive Corporation since December 2011, having previously served as a director from March 1999 to September 2011. He has served as a director of Liberty Media Corporation (including its predecessor) since September 2011. Mr. Romrell has served as a director of Liberty Global plc since June 2013, having previously served as a director of Liberty Global, Inc. from June 2005 to June 2013 and as a director of Liberty Media International, Inc. from May 2004 to June 2005.
J. David Wargo
Mr. Wargo has been a director of Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc. since August 2014. He is the founder and president of Wargo & Company, Inc., a private company specializing in investing in the communications industry since 1993. Mr. Wargo is a co-founder and was a member of New Mountain Capital, LLC from 2000 to 2008. Prior to starting Wargo & Company, he was a managing director and senior analyst of The Putnam Companies from 1989 to 1992, senior vice president and a partner in Marble Arch Partners from 1985 to 1989 and senior analyst, assistant director of research and a partner in State Street Research and Management Company from 1978 to 1985.
Mr. Wargo has served as a director of Liberty Broadband Corporation since March 2015. He has also served as a director of Liberty Global plc since June 2013, having previously served as a director of Liberty Global, Inc. from June 2005 to June 2013 and as a director of Liberty Media International, Inc. from May 2004 to June 2005. He has served as a director of Strayer Education, Inc. since March 2001. He served as a director of Discovery Communications, Inc. from September 2008 until April 2022, after having served as a director of Discovery Holding Company from May 2005 to September 2008.
Christy Haubegger has been a director of Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc. since May 2021. She is currently Executive Vice President, Communications and Chief Inclusion Officer for WarnerMedia. Recognized for advancing diverse representation in the entertainment industry, Haubegger leads WarnerMedia’s global marketing and communications efforts and is also responsible for furthering diversity, inclusion and equity across the organization’s workforce, so it more closely reflects the audience and community the company serves. Prior to joining WarnerMedia, Haubegger spent 14 years at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) leading the company’s drive to become the market leader in the representation of women and people of color, as well as transforming the workforce to become the most diverse and inclusive agency in the entertainment business.
Upon graduating from Stanford Law School, Haubegger founded Latina magazine in 1996. She moved into the world of entertainment in 2002 and worked as a film producer on Chasing Papi (20th Century Fox) and Oscar-winner James L. Brooks’ romantic comedy Spanglish (Columbia Pictures).
Haubegger currently serves on the boards of Hudson Pacific Properties (NYSE: HPP) and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (ml4t.org), a non-profit organization that works to increase the number of minority business leaders. She is also a founding member of TIME’S UP, an initiative that addresses systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace.
Mr. Mueller has been a director of Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc. since August 2014. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman of 360networks Inc. since October 2005, and has held various senior management positions with 360networks Inc. since April 2000, including General Manager of Corporate Development, Senior Vice President—Finance, and Treasurer. Previously, Mr. Mueller served as a Managing Director of Corporate Finance at Ragen MacKenzie, a regional investment bank, and as the Chief Financial Officer and a director of Tuscany, Inc.
Albert E. Rosenthaler
Albert E. Rosenthaler serves as Chief Corporate Development Officer of Liberty Media Corporation, Qurate Retail, Inc., Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc., Liberty Broadband Corporation and Liberty Media Acquisition Corporation. As Chief Corporate Development Officer, Mr. Rosenthaler is responsible for identifying and pursuing investment and other opportunities and assists in setting strategic direction to maximize shareholder value. Mr. Rosenthaler has been with Liberty since April 2002 and most recently served as Liberty’s Chief Tax Officer before taking on his current role in October 2016.
Mr. Rosenthaler serves as a director of Liberty TripAdvisor and TripAdvisor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet College and a Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois.
Michael J. Malone
Mr. Malone has been a director of Liberty TripAdvisor Holdings, Inc. since August 2014. He is currently Chief Executive Officer and principal of Hunters Capital, LLC, a Northwest Real Estate Development and Management Company. He is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMX Music, Inc. (formerly AEI Music, Inc.), a multinational music programming and distribution company that he founded in 1971 and which was sold to Liberty Interactive Corporation in May 2001, following which he served as Chairman of Maxide Acquisition, Inc., a subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Corporation and the holding company for DMX, from May 2001 to February 2005. Mr. Malone has served as a director of Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. since August 1999 and HomeStreet, Inc., a regional bank, since February 2012. He previously served as a director of Take Two Interactive Software, Inc. from January 2006 through March 2007.
